Deposit terms

Last updated: 12 July 2026

The deposit is a figure you see when you book an appointment with a professional. This page explains, plainly, what that figure means, how it appears when you book, and what happens to it if the appointment is cancelled — no surprises.

What is the deposit?

The deposit is a recorded label on your booking — not an amount Zahya collects or holds. It’s paid directly to the professional, the same way the service price and travel fee are.

Zahya does not process payments inside the app (see our Privacy Policy). The deposit is an informational figure that helps you and the professional agree on a commitment to the appointment — nothing more.

How it appears when you book

When you choose a service, tap “Get price” to see the service price, the travel fee for at-home visits, and the deposit amount — all before you send your booking request. The deposit is always labeled “Recorded as a commitment — no in-app payment.”

Cancellation & expiry

  • Before the professional confirms your request: you can cancel it any time from “My bookings.” If she doesn’t respond within 24 hours, the request is cancelled automatically. In both cases — and if she declines your request — the deposit is recorded as refunded.
  • After she confirms the appointment: if you cancel, or don’t show up, the deposit is recorded as forfeited (it stays owed to the professional), since she committed her time based on your confirmation.
  • If the professional cancels a confirmed appointment, or doesn’t show up herself, the deposit is recorded as refunded.
  • Once the appointment is completed, the deposit’s role ends as part of what you pay the professional directly.
  • These are all labels on your booking record — the deposit is paid and settled directly between you and the professional; Zahya never collects or transfers any amount inside the app.
